Q. How many mp3 files will I get? A. The number of files varies issue by issue. You will always get at least one hour of music and you can see the exact track listings at FUTURE ISSUES. Q. How big are the files I download? A. This varies issue by issue but will be between 60 and 70MB. Q. Do I need an mp3 player to listen to the music? A. No. You can listen to the music on your computer or burn it to CD to play on any stereo if you want to. Q. How long will the download take? A. This depends on the speed of your internet connection. On a 5MB ADSL link the file takes approximately six minutes to download. Q. How much space will I need on my hard drive? A. Each issue is between 60 and 70MB in size. You should ensure that you have enough space on your hard drive before starting the download. Q. Can I delete the mp3 files when I have burned my CD? A. Yes. If you don’t want to keep them as mp3 files you can delete them. Q. Do I have to collect all 80 Parts? A. Jazz Greats is a carefully developed collection designed to fit together as a whole. However if you wish you may cancel your subscription. Please see TERMS & CONDITIONS for full details. All collectors must start at Issue 1 and proceed sequentially. Q. Can I pay now and get all 80 parts now? A. No. At present we only offer Jazz Greats on subscription, delivered weekly. Q. How can I tell if I have the appropriate software installed? A. The best way is to download the free sample and see if you can read and play it. You can use Acrobat Reader from Adobe to read the magazines and liner notes. You can play the music with iTunes from Apple. Links for these products are in our LINKS section. Other software is also available or may be built-in to your computer. Q. I have a dialup link to the internet. Can I subscribe? A. The download files are large and may take a long time to download via dialup. A test with the free sample will show you what will happen. There is no technical reason why not. Q. What happens if I change my email address? A. You must inform us of your new email address via the MY ACCOUNT window. Q. What happens if I go on holiday and miss some emails? A. There is no time limit to download each part. Simply catch up when you come home and download your issues at your convenience. You can only download each part once. Q. What if I don’t have a PayPal account? A. You don’t need a PayPal account to buy Jazz Greats just a credit or debit card. However if you have a PayPal account you can use it. Q. What is PayPal? A. PayPal is one of the largest and most respected payment gateways on the internet. Payments are securely handled on the PayPal site, which is approved by all major credit card companies for security. Q. Can I buy Jazz Greats in the shops? A. No. Jazz Greats is only available via this website. This is a revised and updated version of a magazine published by Marshall Cavendish Ltd in the UK only in the 1990’s. Q. Can I buy as a gift? A. Not directly but you could easily automatically redirect the weekly emails to another person. Q. Do you do any other types of music? A. There are also many free “unzipping” utilities available on the internet. If you have problems then contact us and we’ll point you in the right direction. Q. How do I print the PDF’s? A. The program you use to open the PDF’s will allow you to print them. The CD inserts need trimming to fit a standard CD case. Instructions are included. Q. Are my personal and financial details secure? A. Absolutely! The only details we store are your email address and your country of origin for tax reasons. All financial details are stored by PayPal, one of the largest and most respected payment gateways on the internet. Q. Why do my email files go into my junk folder? A. Some email programs see any email with a link in it as potentially dangerous. There is nothing dangerous in our emails. Depending on your email system, you can stop this happening by adding our domain email address to your address book or our domain to your trusted list. Q. Is my computer compatible? A. We have extensively tested our product with many versions of Windows, Mac OS and Linux operating systems. The best way to check is to download the sample and contact us if you have problems. Q. Why is this product so cheap? A. These are high quality recordings, digitally remastered for this product. We have tried hard to keep the price down by asking you to do the final assembly yourselves. No physical distribution means a much lower carbon footprint for our product. Q. Why are there no adverts on the site? A. We see our customers as members of our community who don’t want inappropriate pop-up adverts. We do accept carefully screened, jazz-related links however. |
